If you are moving out, it can be best to utilize these dumpsters to dispose of unwanted furniture, clothes, or other possessions that you would not like moved. We do not offer junk removal as a service, but we can throw away any unwanted possessions at your request (assuming a dumpster is available on-premise)
- Never assume the move-out procedure of your apartment complex. It is best to contact your property manager and figure out the requirements for moving in and moving out. By doing so, you can avoid enduring any unwanted fines or fees.
- Clean. Clean. Clean. If you are not going to pay a professional cleaning company to take care of the move-out clean, you must do a thorough job. This can include wiping down baseboards, outside windows, carpet cleaning, vacuuming, moping and wiping down walls. It is important not to cheap out on this step.
- You should always check with the property management office to make sure that you d not have any outstanding bills. We also recommend that you close all existing accounts associated with the property. The last thing you want to do is be paying for utilities in an apartment that’s not yours.
- Take photos and notes of the condition of your rental. Properly documenting everything will give you proof that you took the proper steps to move out. We have heard of customers who have had their carpets professionally cleaned before move out, and the property management team lied about the condition so that they could charge a cleaning fee. If you have proof with photos and receipts, you can prevent these things from happening.
- A common accident that happens during rental move-outs is leaving possessions behind. It is easy to leave trash behind, as well as items that you just forgot.
